Freed To Run

Get involved

With a goal of $1 million over the next five years, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and I plan to go bigger than before to raise awareness and help even more of those in need of our services.

Freed to Run 2.0

Freed to Run 2.0 takes place December 2-7, 2018. The multi-day marathon journey begins at the Florida Supreme Courthouse in Tallahassee and finishes at the Duval County Courthouse in Jacksonville.

Running alongside Mike Freed are relay teams that will run a different leg of the journey each day. One member of the team will run and the other relay members will be shuttled to the next checkpoint.

·         Monday, December 3rd – Jefferson County Courthouse, Monticello

·         Tuesday, December 4th – Madison County Courthouse, Madison

Supporting the community

In 2017, I ran six marathons in six days, from Tallahassee to Jacksonville, courthouse to courthouse, to raise money for legal aid and to bring attention to the “justice gap;” indigent people with no access to legal services. The legal community and the public took notice and nearly $70,000 was raised to benefit Jacksonville Area Legal Aid (JALA). The event received not only local but state and national media attention.
